September 28, 1939: German-Soviet Frontier Treaty Hands Over Lithuania to the USSR

The USSR and Nazi Germany adjusted their agreed-upon spheres of influence in the Treaty. Germany had seized parts of Eastern Poland which were supposed to fall into the Soviet sphere of influence, therefore to compensate Stalin, in a new secret protocol, Lithuania was given to Soviet control.
